In their own words
Before casinos, I reviewed video games for four years: more than 300 of them, from small puzzle games to hundred-hour role-playing epics. The part I always enjoyed most was the maths underneath: the loot tables, drop rates and in-game economies that decide whether a game respects your time.
That turned out to be good training for casino reviews, which I’ve written since 2024. A welcome bonus is a loot table with a deadline. The headline says 550%; the terms say 30 times the deposit plus the bonus within five days; the only way to know what it’s worth is to do the sums. I keep a spreadsheet for every offer I review and show the working on the page.
At SpyRoller I write the casino reviews and the guides to bonuses, payments and betting. For every casino I read the full terms, check the licence record for the exact domain, note the withdrawal limits and fees, and compare what the cashier advertises with what the terms actually allow. If the two disagree, the review says which one to believe.
I travel whenever I can, usually with a rail pass and a paperback, and in each new city I like to spend an evening on a casino floor, from Lisbon to Tallinn, just watching how the games are dealt and how the house keeps its edge.
I’m also writing a book: a complete guide to turning the odds in your favour. Its first chapter is the honest one. In a casino the house edge never turns, so the odds you can really improve are the ones on keeping your money: knowing the rules, sizing your stakes and knowing when to walk away.
