Curaçao casinos accepting UK players, checked

Which Curaçao casinos accept UK players, and which turn them away at the door? We visited every casino on file from a UK connection. Here is what each one did, what the law says, and which UK protections stop at the border.

Checked 8–9 October 2026

The short answer

Can UK players use Curaçao casinos?

Curaçao casinos accepting UK players are doing so without a UK licence. Since 1 November 2014, any operator offering gambling to people in Great Britain needs a licence from the Gambling Commission, wherever the company is based. Providing gambling to British consumers without one is an offence for the operator, and advertising unlawful gambling can be an offence for whoever advertises it. An adult in Great Britain who opens an account at an offshore casino is not committing a licensing offence: the offences are aimed at the businesses.

The regulator doesn’t mince its words about these sites. The Gambling Commission describes gambling sites that serve Britain without its licence as unlicensed and illegal, the “black market”, and works to cut them off: it sends cease-and-desist notices, refers sites to search engines for removal and goes after their payment routes. For a player, that can mean a card payment declined, a casino that vanishes from search results, or a site that worked last month going dark with a balance still inside.

That is why Curaçao casinos handle UK visitors in different ways. Some block UK connections or exclude UK residents in their terms, because serving Britain without a licence is their legal risk. Others say nothing and let you sign up. Either way, you are outside the UK’s system of player protection, which only covers casinos the Gambling Commission licenses. Our other country guides cover the position elsewhere.

Legal to play is not the same as protected. The rest of this page sets out what each casino on file did when we visited from the UK, and what you give up by playing there.

If a casino excludes the UK, believe it

A casino whose terms exclude UK residents can close the account and refuse to pay out when it finds out where you live. Getting round a block with a VPN breaks the terms in the same way, and gives the casino a reason to keep your winnings.

Curaçao casinos that accept UK players: what our checks found

Every casino on file, visited from a UK connection on 8 and 9 October 2026, next to what its own terms say about the UK. None holds a UK licence, so this page carries no sign-up links.

How we checked

On 8 and 9 October 2026 we opened each casino through a UK endpoint of a VPN, on desktop and on a phone-sized screen, logged out. We are not based in the UK; the VPN showed us what a UK visitor sees, which is the opposite of using one to get round a block. We didn’t register, deposit or try to get past any restriction. “Blocked” means the site sent us to a restriction page naming the United Kingdom; “not restricted” means the lobby, offers and sign-up form loaded normally. Where the site loaded, we read its terms; for the three that blocked us, we read the terms later in October from outside the UK.

How to read the table

  • A casino that let us in is not licensed to serve you. Not blocking a visit is a business choice, not permission. None of these casinos holds a Gambling Commission licence.
  • Pounds are a currency, not a welcome. Four casinos list pound accounts, yet three of them blocked our UK visit.
  • Sister brands can differ. Zizobet, Cosmobet, Velobet and Rolletto are run by the same company under the same licence, yet only Zizobet let our UK visit through.
  • A block page beats the terms. Cosmobet, Velobet and Rolletto don’t list the UK as an excluded country, yet each blocked our visit. Treat the block as the casino’s answer.

Casino access changes without notice, so treat this table as a dated snapshot and read the current terms before you do anything.

Before you sign up

How to tell whether a casino takes UK players

Casinos change their country rules without notice, and a table like ours ages. Five minutes with the casino’s own pages gives you today’s answer.

  1. Find the restricted-countries clause

It sits in the general terms, under a heading such as restricted territories or prohibited jurisdictions. If the United Kingdom or Great Britain is listed, stop there.

  2. Read the “where legal” wording

Some terms accept players only where online gambling is legal for them, leaving that judgement to you. Zizobet’s terms work this way. It is not an invitation; it moves the risk onto you.

  3. Check the sign-up form

If the country list on the registration form has no United Kingdom, you have your answer, whatever the lobby lets you see.

  4. Read the verification policy

Casinos ask for proof of address before the first withdrawal. A UK address at a casino that excludes the UK is the moment an account gets closed, often with the balance still inside.

  5. Treat a block page as final

If the site shows a restriction page for your country, that is the casino’s answer.

A casino can pass all five checks and still not be licensed to serve you. The checks tell you whether the casino will accept you, not whether you’ll be protected if something goes wrong.

What you give up

UK protections that stop at the border

UK-licensed casinos work under rules written to limit harm. None of them follows you to a Curaçao casino.

UK self-exclusion registerEvery online operator must take part (since 31 March 2020)Not covered
Online slot stakesCapped at £5 a spin, £2 for 18–24-year-olds (since April and May 2025)No UK cap; often €5 only while a bonus is active

The stake limits are set out in the Gambling Commission’s guidance. The bonus rule shows the gap most clearly: a UK-licensed casino can ask you to wager a £20 bonus at most ten times, £200 of bets. A typical Curaçao welcome stage asks for 30 times the deposit plus the bonus, so the same £20 deposit and £20 bonus means £1,200 of bets, often within days. Our guide to how casino bonuses really work shows the full calculation.

None of this makes using a Curaçao casino an offence. It means the guard rails the UK built are absent, so the limits have to come from you.

If you have self-excluded

The UK self-exclusion register doesn’t reach these casinos

The UK self-exclusion register covers every online casino licensed in Great Britain, and none of the casinos on this page is. Registering with it won’t block them.

If you have excluded yourself, these still work everywhere:

  • Gambling-blocking software on your phone and computer blocks gambling sites wherever they are licensed. Some tools, such as BetBlocker, are free.
  • Your bank’s gambling block. Many UK banks let you switch off gambling payments in their app, which stops deposits to any casino.
  • Free, confidential support. GamCare’s National Gambling Helpline is open 24 hours a day on 0808 8020 133.

Our safer gambling page covers the warning signs and more support options.

Our line

We don’t publish ways round self-exclusion. If you have excluded yourself, no casino on this page is the answer.

Pounds and payments

Paying in pounds at a Curaçao casino

Zizobet, Cosmobet, Velobet and Rolletto list GBP accounts. Bonus terms are another matter: minimum deposits and win caps are often printed in euros. Zizobet’s minimum deposit is “€10 or equivalent”, which is not the same as £10, and its €100 cap on free-spin winnings shrinks or grows with the exchange rate. Rolletto is an exception, printing its offer and bet limit in pounds, euros and dollars alike. Where a casino has no pound account, every deposit and withdrawal is converted, and you pay the spread both ways.

Cards

UK banks can decline gambling payments to offshore casinos, and many let you block gambling transactions yourself. The UK ban on gambling with a credit card binds UK-licensed operators, not a Curaçao casino, so the safeguard is your own: don’t gamble on credit.

E-wallets and crypto

Wallet and crypto withdrawals are usually the quickest once approved. Crypto removes your card issuer from the chain, and with it any chargeback; a payment sent to the wrong address or network is simply gone.

Withdrawal limits

Some casinos print their limits in sterling. Zizobet’s standard caps, for example, are £7,500 a week and £15,000 a month (terms checked October 2026), with larger wins paid in monthly instalments.

The fine print

Tax, Northern Ireland and complaints

Tax on winnings

Recreational gamblers in the UK don’t pay tax on their winnings, whatever the amount (Gambling Commission), and that doesn’t change because the casino is offshore. The exception is gambling as a business: if it is your trade, check HMRC’s guidance. Interest earned on winnings once they sit in your bank is taxed as normal.

Northern Ireland

The Gambling Commission’s licensing regime covers Great Britain: England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland has its own gambling law, the Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Northern Ireland) Order 1985, and no gambling commission. Our checks used a UK connection, and the restriction pages we saw were labelled “United Kingdom” without separating Northern Ireland, so don’t assume the same answer applies there.

When something goes wrong

The Gambling Commission doesn’t resolve individual disputes, even with the casinos it licenses; those must offer an approved independent dispute service. A casino without a UK licence offers neither route. Under Curaçao law you can complain to the licence holder free of charge within six months; it must acknowledge you in writing within a week and decide within four weeks, extendable once by four more. If that fails, ask which independent dispute service handles its complaints. Keep every reference, date and reply.

Sportsbooks

Curaçao betting sites and UK punters

Several casinos on file run a sportsbook in the same account. The same UK position applies: no Gambling Commission licence, no UK self-exclusion register, no approved dispute service. The rules differ too. Combined casino-and-sports bonuses, banned for UK-licensed operators since January 2026, are still common offshore, and sport bonuses carry their own minimum odds and deadlines.

Questions

Common questions

Are Curaçao casinos legal for UK players?

Using one isn’t an offence for an adult in Great Britain. The law requires operators that serve British consumers to hold a Gambling Commission licence, so the offence sits with the casino, and the Commission treats such sites as illegal. You also lose the UK’s player protections, such as the UK self-exclusion register and an approved dispute service.

Are Curaçao casinos UK-licensed?

No. A Curaçao licence is not a UK licence, and none of the five casinos on file holds a Gambling Commission licence. A casino that wants to serve British players legally needs one.

Which Curaçao casinos accept UK players?

In our checks on 8–9 October 2026, two Curaçao-licensed casinos, Zizobet and Betmac, let a UK visit through and don’t exclude the UK in their terms. Cosmobet, Velobet and Rolletto blocked the visit, although their terms don’t list the UK. None holds a UK licence, and access can change at any time.

Does the UK self-exclusion register work at Curaçao casinos?

No. The UK self-exclusion register only covers casinos licensed in Great Britain. If you have self-excluded, use gambling-blocking software and your bank’s gambling block, and call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 if you need support.

Can I use a VPN if a casino blocks the UK?

Don’t. Getting round a location block breaks the casino’s terms and gives it grounds to close the account and keep any winnings.

Do UK players pay tax on Curaçao casino winnings?

Not as recreational players. UK gambling winnings aren’t taxed, whether the casino is licensed at home or offshore. Gambling as a trade is the exception.

Do UK bonus rules apply at Curaçao casinos?

No. The 10× wagering cap and the ban on combined casino-and-betting bonuses, both in force since 19 January 2026, bind UK-licensed operators only. Offshore welcome offers often ask for 30 times the deposit plus the bonus.

What if a Curaçao casino won’t pay me?

Complain to the operator in writing first, within six months. Under Curaçao law it must acknowledge you within a week and decide within four weeks, extendable once. Then ask which independent dispute service handles its complaints. The Gambling Commission doesn’t resolve individual disputes, and a casino without a UK licence has no UK dispute service.
